Chocolate and chimneys [10 Dec 2009|09:18pm]

louisville

[lilshutterbug]
I want to make some Christmas goodies, and I need some good quality chocolate (milk and white). Where could I find some decent, but reasonably priced chocolate in the city? I want something a little nicer than chocolate chips from Kroger!

Also... does anybody know of anybody that can inspect a chimney/fireplace and tell me if it's in good working order? I want to make sure the flue works and it's safe to use!

Thanks for any help in advance!

Photographers! [10 Dec 2009|01:07pm]

I'm getting married in Louisville September 18th, 2010, and I am in search of a photographer. I have a very specific look that I want to achieve in the pictures, which makes the search all the more difficult. The look that I'm going for is candid, intimate, and down-to-earth (NO typical wedding poses). Unfortunately, all the photographers that seem to achieve that are way out of my price range ($1000-$2000).

All I really want from the photographer are the images on CD in high-res with the copyright, because I know how to make unedited pictures look good, and an option of ordering more later online. I know my wedding is far off, but I want to make sure I find the right photographer and they're able to do it. I also want to know if there is somebody out there that can achieve all this for not so exorbitant a price.

I'm trying to get my foot in the door as well into photography, so I suppose I'm a little pickier than the average consumer, but I know the right look when I see it. So far, the ones that really stick out for me are Kriech-Higdon Photography (by far my top favorite), David Blair and Ramon Rodriguez.

Does anybody have any other recommendations? Is there anybody on here that is a photographer and wants to possibly shoot my wedding? Sorry this is such a lengthy entry but this is one of the most important part of planning the wedding to me.

tattoo rings for halloween wedding 2010 [07 Dec 2009|01:38pm]

louisville

[hallowedding10]
Hello!

My boyfriend and I are getting married next halloween - this is a special journal that was created for that event, and it's kept private because nobody really knows about the wedding yet ;)

What we're planning on doing is a justice of the peace type thing, then having immediate family and a few close friends together to witness the tattooing of rings in place of buying rings at a jewelry store. We're looking for one of two things:

1. a tattoo artist who would be willing to come to the reception and apply our new tattoos (if that's possible - i'm not sure if it would be with tattoo equipment or whatever :) )
2. a tattoo artist who has his or her own studio (or place in general) that we could "rent out" for that morning to host the small reception and receive our tattoo rings.

When i say small reception i mean small reception - we're planning on like 15-20 people at best (including my boyfriend and i) so we wouldn't require a lot of space, and it wouldn't be more than an hour or two or however long it takes to do the rings that we'd actually be there so it won't tie up resources for very long.

Also - we are definitely planning on doing this early so the tattoo artist wouldn't have to worry about missing trick-or-treating with kids, or doing whatever it is you'd like to do later that night when stuffs gets more active :)

I know that I'm posting this ultra early, but we wanted to make sure that we'd have enough time to find a good tattoo artist match, make sure we worked out the right compensation for him or her, be able to finalize details (like if we're going to need to find our own place or if the tattoos have to be applied at the studio), and actually we'd like for one of us to be able to get a tattoo prior to the wedding rings so we can see how the work turns out too :) ...plus once we decided on what we wanted to do we figured why not go ahead and start looking into it - you can't really make plans too early but you can make them too late and miss out on an opportunity!

if you do tattoos or know somebody who does tattoos and wouldn't mind being a part of this ceremony/reception for us, please lemme know! Either reply, send me a message, or email us at hallowedding10@insightbb.com because we'd love to meet you!

-edited because i don't proof read - bol!-
